THE WILHELM – RESIDENTIAL AND RETAIL BUILDING WITH 165 UNITS
In the attractive, central area of the German capital the goal was to create a high quality, exclusive complex replacing an East-German housing block made from prefabricated panels (a so-called Plattenbau). The character of the new building should have been fit the formal urban block context of Mitte. As a matter of fact, the block is made from three units, and it contains 2 underground garage levels, retail spaces on ground floor and apartments on 7 upper stories. The elegance of the facades syncretizes historical references and contemporary details.
