RECONSTRUCTION OF ERZSÉBET SQUARE HISTORICAL PARK
The reconstruction of the park creates the atmosphere of a combination of a modern public space and recreational area with close cooperation with the adjacent Cultural Centre. They together form the biggest contiguous green surface of the inner city. The structure of the park is based on the formerly set pedestrian axes which lead through the entrance ‘filter-zones’ to the centre, where the volume of the Danubius fountain dominates the space. Supplemental functions such as a playground, a ‘chess-place‘ or a dog run, linked with a walkway, take place on the perimeter of the park.
